2019 Beach Sports Party

It’s our BIGGEST event of the year and we are so excited to bring you the 2019 Beach Sports Party. Urban Rec Canberra has grown over the last year so this year the Beach Sports Party will only be open to members to register. It’s an invitational and you’re invited. Team numbers are limited so it’s first in first served. 

What could be more epic than an afternoon on the beach filled with brews, tunes and sport?! It’s the most epic way for your team to have a social afternoon together. 

This is our third annual Beach Sports Party, and it promises to be our biggest yet!  We will have a multisport tournament with beach soccer, beach touch rugby, beach volleyball and beach dodgeball!  And we’ll have a party while doing it!  How fun! Your team will play each sport and a finals series.

SKILL LEVEL: This event is for all skill levels. It's a fun event where all your mates can get together and have an epic time.

BBQ & Drinks: We will be on the BBQ and Drinks will be BYO but we will bring some beers from our mates at Batch Brewing Co.

TEAM SIZE: There are 5 people required on the field at all times. Minimum 1 of either gender at any time. We recommend having a team list of at least 6 people to allow for subs, and players attendance.

OUTDOOR ALL WEATHER BEACH: Unless there are extreame weather conditions games will go ahead rain hail or shine.

INDIVIDUAL REGISTRATION: Don’t have a team? No problem, register as an individual, and we will match you with a team, cost is $29 per person.   Individual Player FAQs and Individual Teams Policy.

YOUR DEDICATED STAFF:  All your favourite Urban Rec hosts will be there to hang out with you on the afternoon.

WHAT TO BRING:   We provide all the equipment you need. Shoes are optional (no studs), active wear or team uniform. Prizes for best dressed team will be epic.

GETTING THERE:  The Lyneham Beach Facility is located on Thurbon St Lyneham in Southwell Park, a short distance from the CBD of Canberra. Coming by public transit? You can take the Tram and get off at Southwell Park.  Driving? There is plenty of parking onsite.
