Urban Rec Canberra started in 2017 with a plan to make sport more fun, accessible and inclusive for everyone. We are passionate about delivering professional and organised leagues that are fun and social for everyone.
Thousands of players are out having a good time, meeting mates new and old, and having a good old run around at Urban Rec Canberra Leagues each week.
Urban Rec Canberra is more than just sport, you’ll have good times with mates, get a chance to be part of our social events and tournaments, and find a spot for the third half with your team and opposition at our partner clubhouses.
Choose a sport, choose a location, and join us for a 10-week season that goes well above and beyond what you’d expect. This is not your regular sports club.

Urban Rec Aussie Rules is small-sided, honoring all the traditional AFL rules with some adaptations to cater for the smaller team.

Basketball
Our Basketball Leagues are a lot more relaxed than your regular competitions. One step up from pick-up ball with all the fun of an organised team sport.
We don’t do stats, benchtime, or anything like that.
It’s perfect for someone who is looking to play Basketball in a very relaxed, non-pressured environment.

What could be more fun? A sunny afternoon, and stretch of white sand, blue skies, and warm water (well no water) ahead of you.
Add some Urban Rec music, and a bunch of smiling faces, there is no suprise in this world why people keep flocking to play Beach Volleyball every week.
This mixed sport is 4 aside and if you love the beach, and being active then Beach Volleyball will have a special place for you. Beginners are welcome, this is the kind of sport where you settle in for an afternoon of sunshine and laughs. This is the quintessential recreational level of play.

Each week you play with the same team, but try your hand at different sports. It's a lot of fun, and a great way to test your diverse sports skills or learn something new.
The sports we play are generally a mix of Soccer, Dodgeball, Hockey, Handball, Frisbee, Basketball, Flag Gridiron, Aussie Rules and Netball.
Depending on the location, sports will be allocated as suited to the venues.

Our Touch Footy leagues are more like Touch Rugby League. It's Touch, BUT you can drop the ball, and you can KICK on the 4th and 5th touch. HELLO, how good does that sound?
The game honours all of the traditional touch rules, but the pop kicks, and the ability to drop the ball means both advanced, and beginner players can have a bit of extra fun.
