Big Backyard Cricket Bash

We have been gutted to see the devastation caused by the ongoing Bushfires around the south coast over the last few months. The fires have hit close to home for us we have staff and members from the South Coast who have been directly affected. 

We felt we needed to do something, so we’ve decided to have a Big Backyard Cricket Bash with all funds raised going to the Red Cross Disaster Relief and Recovery. 

We want to have some fun and raise some money, it’s beer in hand back yard cricket to raise funds for our mates on the coast is there anything more Aussie??  Did we mention it’s hottest 100 day so we will have the tunes pumping and there’s a bar on site!!!

We’ll have more info to come but teams of minimum 6 players mixed (and as many in the squad as you like). The format will be knock-out but each team moves on to play another team and each team will get a minimum of 3 games. 

We also want to extend an invite to volunteers and people who have been affected by the fires we would love to help you have a day out and a bit of fun just email us [email protected] to enter your team. 

Urban Rec is an over 18 sports club but this will be a family friendly event and everyone is welcome to come along and have a good time.

SKILL LEVEL: This event is for all skill levels. It's a fun event where all your mates can get together and have a good time.

Onsite drinks and Food- There’s an onsite bar which offers Urban Rec Members great deals, We’re hoping that they will come on board and help us out by donating a portion of what you spend at the bar but they don’t reopen until the 15th so we will let you know then.

TEAM SIZE: There are 6 people required on the field at all times. Minimum 1 of either gender at any time. The way our Cricket works is you can have a squad of any size and everyone can bat and we match the number in the field to the smallest team.

OUTDOOR: The event is outdoor but we do have an indoor back up if it rains (fingers crossed) or is too smokey.

INDIVIDUAL REGISTRATION: Don’t have a team? No problem, register as an individual, and we will match you with a team, cost is $29 per person.   Individual Player FAQs and Individual Teams Policy.

YOUR DEDICATED STAFF:  All your favourite Urban Rec hosts will be there to hang out with you on the afternoon.

WHAT TO BRING:   We provide all the equipment you need. Shoes are optional (no studs), active wear or team uniform. Prizes for best dressed team will be epic.

GETTING THERE:  The location is the Lyneham Hockey Centre, Located at 196 Mouat St Lyneham a 5 minute drive from the CBD or grab a bus or tram down Northbourne Ave. There's is plenty of onsite parking as well as changerooms and toilets.
